Every year there are more and more commercial blueberry plantations in Ukraine. Ukrainian farmers should take care of new markets for fresh berries, the gross harvest of which is also growing from year to year, writes SEEDS.
The Chinese market can become especially interesting for berry farmers. The President of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association (UPOA) Taras Bashtannik will speak about this during the online discussion "Fruit and Vegetable Export to China: Barriers and Opportunities for Ukrainian Producers", which will take place on December 16 at 11:00 on the Zoom platform.
“China is a market - a net importer of fresh blueberries, the volumes of which are growing dynamically. At the same time, Ukraine is rapidly increasing the area and, over time, the gross harvest of fresh blueberries. Therefore, it would be extremely important for Ukraine to discover the opportunity to supply fresh blueberries to China directly, ”Taras Bashtannik is convinced.
At the same time, Andriy Yarmak, Economist of the Investment Department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), promises to announce the rating of vegetables and fruits with the greatest prospects for export from Ukraine to China during the online discussion “Fruit and vegetable exports to China: barriers and opportunities for Ukrainian producers ".
Doctor of Economics Vitaly Skotsik during an online discussion will speak with the topic “Three technologies of agricultural production. What are the differences between Western European, North American and Chinese. "
Taras Golub, Advisor to the Vice Premier for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, will speak on the topic of using the interests of Ukrainian diplomacy to lobby the interests of Ukrainian business.
In addition, Vladislava Magaletskaya, the chairman of the State Food Service, will take part in the event.
The organizer of the online discussion is the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association (UPAA) with the informational support of the Sapienza AGROMEDIA Agency.
Moderator: Ekaterina Zvereva, UPOA Development Director.
